In the last few years, it has become increasingly important for
physicians to improve patients health by educating them about their various
ailments. HMO's are particularly friendly to firms who provide preventative
training and education sessions.
Developed for Duke University, the
Introduction to Diabetes CD is targeted for the elderly who may have just
recently developed diabetes.
The training system, complete with mouse
and keyboard training for the users, was designed to be run with as little intervention by medical
staff as possible.
The software provided many
functions. Users were educated and tested on facts and concepts.
Later, their test results could be viewed by the doctors and would not only
track right and wrong but the number of times it took to get the question
right. This allowed doctors to quickly assess the educational needs of
their patients.
