Dynamic Animations Large Image Library Audio Library

As you can imagine, the National Geographic Society has pretty high standards for its visual productions.  Picture Atlas of the World was no exception.  This CD-ROM contained hundreds of images, movies, and sounds. Just managing the assets for this project was a difficult process.

An interesting technical problem that needed to be addressed was the massive size of the assets.  They had to fit on a CD-ROM.  In order to make sure the best quality images could be produced, we calculated the exact number of bytes available for the assets and post-produced images, videos, and animations to fit perfectly.

We also developed numerous animations which explained complex map projections.
